Russell Scanlan Gets Quizzy for Nottinghamshire Hospice

Nottingham insurance broking and risk managing firm, Russell Scanlan, raised an outstanding £1,900 for a local charity, in just one evening, at its annual quiz challenge held at Trent Bridge.

A total of 16 businesses from across the City and wider Midlands region turned out teams to test their general knowledge and raise much needed funds for Nottinghamshire Hospice.

The charity relies on fundraising from the community and corporate partners to provide a hugely important service, which adds value to the lives of adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

During the evening, teams were put through their paces over 10 tough rounds of questions. Topics were wide-ranging, covering horrible histories, game show names, spelling, nature and movie trailers, to name just a few.

A huge array of prizes were also on offer in a bottle tombola, which proved extremely popular for those wanting to top up on their tipples prior to the festive season.

Bryan Banbury, Managing Director at Russell Scanlan, said: “We’re delighted that so many of our business associates, colleagues and clients turned out for what proved to be a hugely enjoyable and successful occasion. This year’s quiz was one of the most competitive yet, and there was much good-spirited rivalry between the teams!

“We’re hugely proud of our association with Nottinghamshire Hospice, and would like to thank everyone who showed their support for this fantastic cause. Congratulations to the winning team from HSKS Greenhalgh who successfully defended their title to once again clinch the Russell Scanlan charity quiz trophy.”

Russell Scanlan’s annual quiz night in aid of Nottinghamshire Hospice is the latest in a series of fundraising activities that the firm has been involved in during the course of the year.

Holly Swinckels, Fundraising Development Manager for Nottinghamshire Hospice, said: “We have a target of raising £4m each year to help every family that needs our support. Everyday matters to these people, particularly at this time of year when for some, it means their last Christmas together.

“We couldn’t function without the help of the business community, and cannot thank the team at Russell Scanlan enough for hosting this fantastic event and for nominating Nottinghamshire Hospice as their chosen charity of the year.”
