Taking Community Support Seriously (by having a lot of fundraising fun!)

Mike Dickinson from Russell Scanlan presents cheque to MySight charity

Sign Up Now for The Charity Quiz night that everyone wants to win. 20 teams fight it out to be the best of the best. Friday 7 October 2016. Trent Bridge. Contact Connie Burbidge on 0115 947 0032 for details.

Throughout 2015, the Russell Scanlan team held a variety of events in aid of chosen charity of the year, MySight, which provides greater independence for visually impaired people throughout Nottinghamshire. And we are proud to say it was our most successful year of fundraising yet.

Our tireless team members organised a Charity Raffle, Antiques Valuation evening, an extraordinary Charity Quiz Night and more and blew our original target out of the water. We were able to present My Sight with a final fundraising sum of £3,323.40. The money raised will contribute to providing much needed advice, support and information for people of all ages living with sight loss across the county.

So onwards and upwards. In 2016 we are supporting the Linden Lodge Neurological Rehabilitation unit. This is a specialist unit sponsored by Nottingham Hospital’s Charity, which provides incredible 24 hour treatment and rehabilitation for a range of life-changing neurological conditions.

This one of a kind unit also has a specialist re-ablement team, who provide a community service that allows patients to leave hospital earlier and receive invaluable treatment in the comfortable surroundings of their own home

We have seen first-hand how much Linden Lodge makes a positive difference to the community we live in and the rehabilitation they offer is exceptional. The team at Russell Scanlan is already planning a number of fun-filled activities to help exceed last year’s fundraising total and contribute to this great centre and its dedicated staff.

Nick Lawford from Nottingham Hospitals Charity, which raises charitable funds for Linden Lodge Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, said: “We are thrilled that Russell Scanlan has chosen us as their charity for 2016. Every penny raised for Linden Lodge really does count towards improving the treatment and care we can provide our patients, helping to give them the best possible road to recovery.

“Fantastic corporate partners like Russell Scanlan help to make the experience of being treated at Linden Lodge for patients and their families as positive as possible – transforming facilities, providing important additional services, funding new state-of-the-art equipment, and enhancing the first class care given by hospital staff.

All of us at Nottingham Hospitals Charity and Linden Lodge can’t wait to see what exciting fundraising events the team at Russell Scanlan have planned and we can’t thank them enough for their support.”
