Here at Russell Scanlan we believe in supporting local charities within our community. Each year we support a chosen charity and take a proactive approach through our own fundraising efforts from cake bakes to charity pub quiz nights and each year we are proud to see how much our efforts make a real difference to those that benefit from the money raised.
This year our chosen charity is the Nottingham Stroke Club which is affiliated with The National Stroke Association. The charity is the city’s leading support group for those who have suffered from a stroke and is a cause close to many of the Russell Scanlan teams’ hearts.
We have seen first-hand how our fundraising efforts make a positive difference to the community we live in. We are proud supporters of the Nottingham Stroke Club and look forward to taking part in a number of fun-filled activities to help exceed our previous years’ target in order to help fund this extremely worthwhile cause.
We will also be supporting the charity, ‘Help a Nottinghamshire Child’, through our sponsorship of The Galleries of Justice museum in Nottingham, soon to become the National Justice Museum in 2017.
Last year our chosen charity was the Linden Lodge Neurological Unit, a specialist centre sponsored by Nottingham Hospitals Charity. The unit at Nottingham City Hospital provides incredible 24-hour treatment and rehabilitation for a range of life-changing neurological conditions. Through a number of activities (including a charity sky dive!) our partners and staff helped raise nearly £4,000, which we presented to the patients of the unit in November last year.
